This small lot is tucked into large tracts of conservation land and woods. Priorities included creatively capitalizing on views, solar advantages, microclimates, and weaving in a 'Wonderland Walk' with private, playful niches. The design is fun, practical and serene, incorporating a sequence of open and closed seasonal garden spaces. It integrates conservation land with an outdoor patio, play area, kitchen garden, and formal ellipse, with parking improvements, all within a limited space. The garden is dynamic; full-bodied in the summer and fall, and low and open in the winter and spring. The habitat and sensibility integrated with the larger landscape increases the apparent size of the property.
